• Purchasing goods that have not used hazardous chemicals in their manufacture and can be recycled at the end of their useful lives.
• Purchasing locally produced and organically farmed goods.
• Reducing water consumption and wastage.
• Using wood only from sustainable or FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified sources.
• Considering natural or bio-degradable products instead of petro-chemical derivatives.
• Looking to purchase more fair traded products that support sustainable living for growers and suppliers throughout the supply chain.
• Supporting Environmental organisations and lobby groups such as Greenpeace and Friends of the Earth.
